Brian Tittl
Brian is a teacher first and a developer second, and the order matters. He currently teaches AP History and Government at St. John's Jesuit High School, and Theology and Computer Science courses for Arrupe Virtual Learning Institute. Brian has been a department chair, managed classroom technology for faculty both in-class and online, and has taught students from the middle school to college level. He has also given several workshops on technology in the classroom, especially on the integration of ethical AI — this experience is where nearly everything BYTSized makes comes from.
Studiorum exists because grading a stack of DBQs and building a fresh assessment for every unit is work that Brian was already doing. Its AI tutor is named Magis after the Ignatian principle, and the platform itself after the Ratio Studiorum, the Jesuit plan of studies written in 1599. Brian holds an M.A. in Philosophy from the University of Toledo and has been teaching for two decades, online and in person.
The games came out of the same instinct, just pointed sideways: Brian has been building word and puzzle games since 2015 and is particularly interested in gamification in education.
